Backdrop Magazine: Editor-in-Chief, Fall 2011 – Spring 2012
Oversaw all aspects of production for the only independent and entirely student run magazine at Ohio University. Wrote nine features for the magazine and several more for the website. Served as web editor and managaing editor before being chosen as the first editor-in-chief to have not been involved in the magazine’s creation in 2007. Managed the editorial direction of the magazine, work with the designers and photographers to approve the art of the magazine and meet with the publisher, advertising director and marketing directors to evaluate our financial and marketing strategies.

Wrote weekly TV reviews and analysis that ranged from an in-depth exploration of Gary from “Teen Mom’s” psyche to an admonishment of “Celebrity Rehab” to straight-forward reviews of shows such as “Game of Thrones” and “Justified.”

Regularly wrote feature stories and blog posts for Ohio University’s college of education and created press releases for the college as well. Several of these press releases were featured in local newspapers.
